Hi, my name is Jen and I am still spending too much time decorating. If you have visited my site previously, you will remember that I started this website to showcase the decorating for my guest bedroom to my family and friends. Basically I didn't want to have to keep emailing around photos. Well decorating is sort of like most things in life, never quite done. so in the past year, I have, let's say, enhanced the original theme. Take a look at all the new photos for all the various walls.
Just as a reminder, my guest bedroom is not just for guests, but rather it is to showcase my collection of VINTAGE BED TRAYS. I know, I know, you are probably thinking what am I talking about, what is a vintage bed tray and how could I decorate with them? Well, take a look at the below pictures.
What is a Vintage Bed Tray? Generally they are wooden trays manufactured between the 1930s to 1960s, many with painted floral decorations, that usually have 4 legs that let them stand at a height of 8 to 10 inches with a tiltable top. Here is a photo showing the top of the tray in the tilted position.

And here is what the try looks like from the side.

And here is a shot of the tray from the bottom.

Who manufactured these trays? Most of the examples that I have found have a label that says General Wood Products, Golden Rule Line, Rockford, ILL. I also have several examples that are unmarked. In fact the pitcures of the tray above was found in the original box unused. Unfortunately I purchased this one very early in my collecting, the box was very musty and unmarked, so I pitched it.
